I have been painting since I was 15 years old. My work is most often figurative and expressionist in style, though realism plays an important role as well. The traditional motifs of figure, still life, and landscape are what I favor. Reflecting the early influences of van Gogh and de Kooning, my textured brushstrokes are expressionist and dark, but with colors vibrant and contours open. My favorite painters are the post-impressionists.  I am passionate about art history.
