The hedges and bushes that inhabit my work seem universal as signifiers of a certain, particularly American landscape. Within this landscape they are often ubiquitous to the point of being invisible, often serving as boundaries and buffers between public and private spaces. I am interested in both the form of these discrete groupings and the way the bushes and hedges can seem to "relate" or "interact" as they grow together.
